The Trip That Became a Lesson

It was never supposed to be a work trip. When Elroy Ramantan first orchestrated the Bangkok getaway, it was meant to be a break; a pause from deadlines, shoots, and strategy decks. But as plans unfolded and more team members joined in, the timing aligned perfectly with Bangkok’s year-end wave of illustration fairs, exhibitions, and creative events.

“Before we knew it, everyone wanted in,” Elroy Ramantan said. “It naturally became a crash course in creativity — part fun, part discovery, and full creative immersion.”

From the buzzing aisles of the Bangkok Illustration Fair to late-night conversations over street food, the team experienced a city where culture and creativity coexisted seamlessly. Not only was the experience inspiring, but it also served as a reminder of what a vibrant and dynamic creative ecosystem looks like.

Confidence, Culture, and Connection

For Elroy Ramantan, one of the most striking observations was Bangkok’s confidence in its creative identity.

“Everything they make, from ads to installations feels proudly Thai,” he shared.
“Because of that, the rest of the world now wants to be part of it. Their self-sufficiency has become their strength.

That sense of pride translates into bold investments. Brands like AIS have created experiential spaces in the heart of Siam Square; a literal playground for young creatives to gather, connect, and experiment. It’s marketing that’s more than visibility; it’s belonging.

The team noticed how Bangkok’s creative scene thrives on its relationship with youth culture. It celebrates artists, influencers, and local voices, constantly weaving them into the city’s everyday rhythm. That authenticity, Elroy Ramantan reflected, is something AICREATIVV aims to channel more deeply in Brunei’s context.

Reflections from the Field

If there’s one thing the team took home, it’s that creativity grows where community thrives. From immersive exhibitions to spontaneous collaborations, every moment in Bangkok pulsed with possibility.

“It made us realise how important it is to create experiences people actually want to be part of,” Elroy Ramantan said. “The openness, the excitement, it’s contagious.

And it wasn’t just inspiration. Conversations began forming around the potential of regional collaboration but how creatives across ASEAN could learn, build, and grow together.

As for Elroy Ramantan himself, the trip served as a grounding moment:

“It reminded me that creativity speaks its own language. You don’t need to be the biggest agency to make an impact. Just a brave one.”

What Comes Next

Returning home, the team carried more than just souvenirs. They brought ideas full of connection, experimentation, and fearless collaboration.

Elroy Ramantan summed it up best:

“Bangkok is more than a city. It’s a mindset. One that blends culture, passion, and curiosity. That’s something we want to nurture in everything we do next.”

As AICREATIVV continues to grow, this “crash course” serves as a reminder that sometimes, the best lessons come when you stop trying to learn and simply start experiencing.
