When Nuur Batrisyia Ali walked out of Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s Chancellor Hall in her graduation robe, it wasn’t just the closing of a chapter — it was the kind of full-circle moment where gratitude outweighs exhaustion, and joy outshines every struggle. For her, the day was filled with faces she loved most: family, friends, mentors, and the support systems that carried her through the long nights of assignments and the endless mornings she swore she wasn’t made for.

But the milestone wasn’t hers alone. “I wouldn’t have done it without them,” she said, naming her parents, siblings, friends, lecturers — and yes, the AICREATIVV team. From her slippers-and-heels dash to the shuttle bus that morning to the cheers outside the hall, the day was messy, beautiful, and entirely, Batrisyia.

Hands full, heart even fuller.

A Creative Twist on a History Major

To many, it was unexpected: a History and International Relations student interning at a creative agency. While her peers went to ministries and research centres, Nuur Batrisyia joined AICREATIVV, learning the ropes of client work, creative writing, and the art of storytelling.

“People found it odd,” she laughed, “but I have no regrets. It opened up my perspective. AICREATIVV set the standards for an ideal working environment. I’m not afraid to try things outside my comfort zone anymore.

Her first blog post with the team — written under the guidance of Amal Najihah Osmera (also known as, Najang) — earned 100% engagement (Read it here!), a moment she still remembers. From there, she grew into writing that balanced academic discipline with creative flair, a shift that now colours everything from her Instagram captions to her freelance work as an exhibition guide.

Growth, Kaizen, and Gratitude

When asked what she carried most from her internship days, Nuur Batrisyia Ali didn’t hesitate: “Kaizen. Back then we called it #myteam. The idea that even if we fall, we get back up together.

That sense of resilience followed her through the rest of her studies and into her current work with Young Entrepreneurs Association Brunei (YEAB), where she’s still building, still learning, and still aligned with familiar faces — even working alongside Imamull Qhaeer once again.

Reflecting on her university journey, she admits she would have told her younger self to take her studies more seriously and to connect earlier with batch mates and lecturers. Yet, true to her spirit, she adds, “There’s no point crying over spilled milk. I’m still proud of myself.”

A Message to AICREATIVV

And of course, Batrisyia didn’t forget her creative roots:

“ABANG MAYMELLLLLLL!!!! KAKA AMAAALLLL!!!! Elroy, Najang, Iman, Aaqilull, Hafiz, Acap, Haziyah… I entered AICREATIVV as an intern with these people and I’m forever grateful that they helped me grow. It never felt like I ever left AICREATIVV. It’s rare for interns to still stay this close even after leaving, but I always had a space here. Thank you for helping me grow — and yes, for those 16MCs too!”

Batrisyia’s story is a reminder that growth doesn’t always follow a straight line. Sometimes it takes a detour through unexpected places — like a creative agency — to shape resilience, curiosity, and courage that carry you far beyond a graduation stage.
