Hi, welcome to AICREATIVV! Yasmin wants you to listen to this song all the time, even when you're not reading this blog entry, it's one of her favourite songs at the moment.

Finding Her Place

When Yasmin Yunos joined AICREATIVV as a media intern, she didn’t come in trying to stand out. If anything, she was more comfortable staying behind the scenes quietly observing, learning, and slowly understanding how everything worked. She had always been drawn to multimedia since she was young, but stepping into a real working environment made that interest feel different. It was no longer just something she was studying or experimenting with, but something that required her to contribute, adapt, and grow in ways she hadn’t experienced before.

At times, it felt overwhelming, but not in a negative way. It was the kind of overwhelming that comes from realising you’re no longer just learning in theory, but actually creating something that matters. What might seem like small steps to others felt significant to her, because for the first time, she could see her efforts turning into something tangible. It felt like she was slowly turning those small, personal interests into something more meaningful, one project at a time.

Her first day, however, told a very different story. She remembers feeling unsure of her own abilities, especially being surrounded by people who seemed far more experienced and confident. Even though she knew how to handle a camera, it felt like she was constantly trying to catch up, as if everyone else was already several steps ahead. That feeling made her hesitate at first, but over time, something began to shift. As she observed the team more closely, she realised they weren’t there to judge her rather, they were there to guide her. That understanding changed her mindset completely. Instead of being afraid of making mistakes, she became more concerned about what would happen if she didn’t try at all. From that point on, she allowed herself to be more present on set, embracing the process rather than avoiding it.

The Moments People Don’t See

That shift helped her recognise what she truly enjoys about the work. For Yasmin, it isn’t just about capturing what’s obvious or expected, but about noticing the moments that people don’t usually pay attention to like the quiet focus before a shoot begins, the random laughter between takes, or the brief tension that fills a space before something unfolds. These moments may seem small, but to her, they feel the most honest, carrying emotion, energy, and sometimes even silence that says more than anything else.

When she’s on set, she doesn’t rely too much on overthinking. Instead, she trusts her instincts. If a moment feels meaningful, she captures it, because she believes the best shots aren’t just the ones you see, but the ones you feel. Many of her favourite behind-the-scenes clips happen this way — unplanned, instinctive, and alive when played back. It reminds her why she enjoys what she does, because those moments can’t be recreated, only experienced and captured as they happen.

Learning Through the Work

A woman in a black hijab and shirt holds a red camera, focused on taking a picture. White background. Calm expression.

Of course, that doesn’t mean the process is always easy. One of the biggest challenges she’s faced is learning how to adapt quickly when things don’t go according to plan. Shoots can change direction at any moment, and she often has to think on the spot while still making sure she captures something meaningful. It can be stressful, but it’s also where she feels she has learned the most.

One particular moment stood out to her, when she stopped overthinking entirely and simply trusted her instincts while filming. When she reviewed the footage later, it turned out better than she expected. That was when she realised that her growth wasn’t just happening — it was showing. It was a quiet but important shift, from doubting herself to starting to trust her own eye.

Seeing Differently

While she draws inspiration from social media, especially creators like Muhammad Shaffuan (@mshaffuan), she doesn’t see it as something to replicate. Instead, she treats it as a starting point, paying attention to the emotions and storytelling behind what she sees, and then reshaping it into something that still feels authentic to her. For her, authenticity is what gives the work meaning, and it’s what allows her to stay connected to what she creates.

Since joining the media team, her perspective has also shifted in a subtle but important way. She has started noticing details she used to overlook — small expressions, quiet interactions, fleeting moments that don’t demand attention but still carry significance. What once felt ordinary now feels worth capturing. It’s less about finding something extraordinary, and more about learning how to see differently.

Still Becoming

If she were to give advice to someone starting out, it would be simple. Don’t wait until you feel ready — just start. Whether it’s with a phone or a camera, what matters is the act of capturing itself. Over time, things begin to make sense, and confidence grows through doing, not waiting.

And in between all the shoots and learning, there are the moments that make the experience feel complete. Lunch outings and spontaneous hangouts with the team, listening to music while working, bonding with past interns when they drop by, and sometimes just quietly spending time in the office. These moments don’t always need to be captured, but they are just as meaningful. Because for Yasmin, growth doesn’t only happen through the work itself — it happens in the spaces around it, in the moments that feel small, but stay with you the longest.
