THE PETAL FALLS SLOW — — AS IF IT KNOWS IT'S THE LAST Paragraph There are moments too beautiful to last — and we feel their end even as they begin. It’s not grief, not joy, but something gentler, sadder, and more sacred. We do not cling; we simply watch. We notice the way a shadow shifts, how the light lingers just before fading. In that brief awareness, we are both full and empty. This is the gift of impermanence — not to hold on longer, but to feel more deeply, and to say goodbye with wonder.

Artist Notes

A journal entry from when I went to Japan had descriptions of how I felt leaving from the last train station. I recall clinging on to my ticket that is no longer valid. I knew it was a sign that it was time to go back after 10 days there. I took pictures of it, held it, acted like I was going to go in again. That feeling of knowing something beautiful is about to end — that was the inspiration for this entry.

Fleeting Feelings

I've felt all of these, and so have you. Feelings that are familiar but hard to describe. They come quietly, leave quietly, barely touching the surface but changing something within us underneath. This is an attempt to notice them before they're gone, and to capture them in a series of soft artworks. To name what passes through the heart and hold it still - this is Fleeting Feelings. A mix of japanese sayings, haikus, gradients, simple shapes with a soft glow.
