Some things are not meant to be held — not because they are unworthy, but because they belong to the wind, the sea, to something larger than us. There is a moment when effort softens into understanding, when resistance becomes reverence. This is not giving up; it is giving over. To let what must pass, pass. To bow without breaking. To love without keeping. It’s here, in the quiet surrender, that we find the kind of peace that holds nothing — and yet leaves us full.
Artist Notes
Shikataganai literally translates to "it can't be helped", something that just leaves it be. In my journal entries, I found that I wrote this line in multiple entries, especially if I have came to an acceptance in certain things beyond my control. It isn't giving up, but it's more like accepting things as is. The relief we feel in that instant of letting go is beautiful to me. I wanted that to be part of this series.

Fleeting Feelings
I've felt all of these, and so have you. Feelings that are familiar but hard to describe. They come quietly, leave quietly, barely touching the surface but changing something within us underneath. This is an attempt to notice them before they're gone, and to capture them in a series of soft artworks. To name what passes through the heart and hold it still - this is Fleeting Feelings. A mix of japanese sayings, haikus, gradients, simple shapes with a soft glow.
